Introducing Al Cologne

I did say it was going to be busy right? The Joy of Life roster is now 9-strong, and I couldn’t be more proud of the pedigree of songwriters that we are working with. Al Cologne is no exception; a London based artist whose songs balance vulnerability with an understated confidence. We’re calling it kitchen sink songwriting. Al brought their voice-note demos to the Joy of Life studio at the start of the year and we went from there. Their music is rooted in tone and feeling. Their work is conversational and deeply observant, weaving personal history into something spacious and universal. “I want it to feel real. If something’s messy, I let it be messy.”

This is it for now, their debut single milk teeth, available to stream everywhere and download from Bandcamp. And there is plenty more to come.
